Stravinsky’s Petrushka tells the fanciful story of puppets coming to life through the composer’s iconically effervescent score. Violinist Nicola Benedetti performs the jazz-influenced concerto written for her by composer and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. Conductor David Robertson opens the program with a new work by Caroline Mallonee, commissioned as part of the NY Phil’s Project 19.
