This is Beethoven at peace, amid his beloved nature. Every measure of the poetic “Pastoral” Symphony animates his impressions of country life. Also, an evocation of nature by the tragically short-lived Lili Boulanger. Impressions of Autumn from The Four Seasons by Vivaldi and recomposed by Astor Piazzolla. Plus, Hindemith’s roaring Symphonic Metamorphosis, a showcase for the Madison Symphony’s virtuosos.
