Hedda has only just returned from her honeymoon but she is already bored with marriage and longs for excitement. She decides to entertain herself by manipulating those around her. Henrik Ibsen’s most famous of characters caused controversary at the time of release for her destructive female independence and struggle to break free from the social norms.
