Chamber Music in the Galleries: The Music Settlement Faculty

Break winters spell with an exceptional concert by the Temporary Resonance Trio. In addition to the special insights about the music shared by Terrie Baune, John Chernoff, and Carol Jacobson, there will be sweet and savory treats paired with coffee and tea to make the afternoon even more delicious. Jeff Eaton guided OMP as Executive Director for over 14 years before his death in 2015. It was his idea to create a chamber music series featuring OMP musicians. By imagining, creating, and performing in small ensembles, they would have fun engaging listeners up close and honing the skills necessary for the uniquely soloist demands of every OMP concert.

Jeffrey Eaton Chamber Music Series: Voices of the New World

 Journey through Italy’s rich musical landscape with a delightful quartet by Boccherini, a poignant elegy by Puccini, and a Respighi quartet that captures the essence of Italian musical brilliance. Bellissimo!

March Chamber Concert

PEV’s spring concerts, called “All Together Now,” will be led by guest conductor Jeff Howe. An accomplished Bay Area conductor and tenor, Howe was PEV’s assistant music director from 2021-23 and was a featured soloist with the group. He is currently director of music ministry at San Ramon Valley United Methodist Church. This uplifting program celebrates the power of heartfelt teamwork and the community spirit that sustains Pacific Edge Voices and will feature new music by California composers.

Young Artists Concert – April 6, 2025

Overture to Il Mondo Della Luna is a window into Joseph Haydn’s quirky vision of life on the moon written in the comic opera buffa genre. The charismatic duo Liana Bérubé and Ivo Bokulić will return to the stage for an elegant performance of W.A. Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in Eb Major. We conclude with the timeless and evocative suite The Planets by Gustav Holst. His fascination with astrology helped him capture the essence of each planet. No matter what your sign or horoscope is, you are sure to love this magical work.
