For over four decades, The Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio illuminated the musical world and Peoples' Symphony Concerts' seasons with insightful and captivating performances and recordings of the piano trio literature, commissioning important new works for generations to come. This afternoon's program featuring Anna Polonsky, Jaime Laredo, Nokuthula Ngwenyama, and Sharon Robinson is dedicated, with affection and admiration to Joseph Kalichstein, who passed away in March 2022. It is a program that he was to play and his presence will surely be felt by all of us.

Jonathan Biss is a world-renowned pianist who shares his deep curiosity with music lovers in the concert hall and beyond, and will play Beethoven’s Op. 110 Sonata as well as works by Schubert, Schumann, Mozart, and contemporary American composer Amy Beth Kirsten at The Town Hall on Sunday, May 7. Named one of the greatest string quartets of the last 100 years by BBC Music Magazine, the GRAMMY® nominated Dover Quartet has followed a “practically meteoric” (Strings) trajectory to become one of the most in-demand chamber ensembles in the world. One of the world's most cherished ensembles, the Takács Quartet, is now entering its forty-eighth season and will perform their only NYC appearance this season for Peoples’ Symphony. With unparalleled artistry and enduring vigor, the Juilliard String Quartet (JSQ) continues to inspire audiences around the world.
