From Beethoven to Beyoncé is a fantastical trip through an imaginary music festival curated by those two artists, combining the greatest composers of all-time with the best popular artists of today. Lady Gaga sings with Brahms; Bruno Mars improvises with Bach; Wagner conducts while Adele sings; Muse, Shostakovich and Chance the Rapper talk politics; Stravinsky and Daft Punk push the boundaries; John Mayer fanboys over Mahler; and Beethoven and Beyoncé bring it home with help from Mumford and Sons. A merging of musical giants, Beethoven X Coldplay pairs two composer/artists that deal with universal and humanist themes in their music, and asks the musical question - would Beethoven have found meaning in the music of Coldplay? That notion, perhaps odd-sounding at first, becomes much more compelling when considering the events surrounding Beethoven’s creation of the Eroica Symphony- an artist desperate to solidify his position as the reigning musical genius in Vienna, but yet still misunderstood and criticized, and a young man in his thirties faced with the reality that he would indeed soon be completely deaf. How, then, would Beethoven have reacted to the Coldplay lyrics ‘Nobody said it was easy?’ or ‘When you lose something you can’t replace…. could it be worse?’

The Resurrection Mixtape fuses the music of Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur with Mahler’s electrifying “Resurrection” Symphony — a mixtape highlighting the relationship between hip-hop and classical music, as well as the life, struggle, death and legacy of two iconic artists. Biggie and Tupac’s words will ring out in “Hypnotize,” “Ambitionz az a Ridah,” “California Love,” “Juicy,” “Keep Ya Head Up,” “Sky’s The Limit” and more, as live emcees perform alongside a full symphony orchestra.

Skull and Bones is a symphonic showcase meets Halloween dance party. Classic orchestra showpieces like The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, “Mars” from The Planets, Danse macabre, and the finale of Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony are played in their original form then remixed and combined with electronic beats; layered with vocal stems of Post Malone, Muse, Drake, and Adele; woven into dancehall floor-killers.

Brahms X Radiohead is an epic symphonic synthesis of Radiohead’s album OK Computer and the First Symphony of Johannes Brahms, composed for full symphony orchestra and three solo vocalists. The piece offers a reimagined experience of each work by seeing it through the lens of the other, exploring the explosive tension and deep pathos they have in common. Brahms’ 19th-century orchestral sound palette is used throughout, but woven in, superimposed and inserted are the melodies and music of Radiohead. At times one hears the themes and lyrics of Radiohead suspended over Brahms’ symphony; at times the orchestra plays the music of Radiohead but filtered through the counterpoint and harmonies of Brahms. Every combination of synthesis is explored in conductor Steve Hackman’s recomposition, as the music moves from one to the other so seamlessly that many times the audience is left wondering which is which, and how the combination was even possible.
