The story of Tristan and Isolde has fascinated across geography and generations since the Middle Ages. And of all the love couples in art, Tristan and Isolde are perhaps the most tragic. The story is simple: The knight Tristan is sent across the sea to fetch the princess Isolde, who is to marry the king against her will. On the journey home, they both accidentally drink a love potion. Forbidden love arises – the kind that moves mountains and eats them up from the inside. And now we follow Tristan and Isolde into the deadly power of stormy love.

Lotte lies sleepless in her apartment. She has been abandoned by the love of her life, Michael. She has also just been fired from her job as a social worker. Throughout her adult years, Lotte has been committed to the community and her fellow human beings. She has taken care of the weakest, but now no one takes care of her. Suddenly, Michael's adult son, Daniel, calls, unable to reach his father. They find Michael beaten to death in his apartment, and together with Daniel, Lotte sets out to solve Michael's mysterious death.

But everything is turned upside down when her boyfriend gets a job as a teacher at a college in Velling. How is she supposed to function in that society, with her great love of words? Because what do the taciturn West Jutlanders actually think about in the pauses between their sentences? And how does she avoid filling the silence with gibberish?

Dear Evan Hansen is a touching and heartbreaking story about the longing to be seen and to belong. The musical, created in 2015, has played with great success on Broadway in New York and in the West End in London, and was adapted into a film in 2021. The music and the incredibly moving songs were written by Grammy, Tony, Olivier and Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who also wrote the lyrics for the films La La Land and The Greatest Showman.

Barbara is one of the great love novels in Nordic literature. It is from 1939, written by Faroese Jørgen-Frantz Jacobsen and tells the story of the Danish theologian Poul's erotic obsession with Barbara, Thorshavn's legendary femme fatale. She is known locally as a notorious seductress and infamous for her stormy relationships with men. Men like Danish-Protestant Poul, who is lifted for a time on the roaring waves of love and then drowns in the dark madness of disappointed desire.

How do you fall in love with another person? I mean, really and insanely truly in love? If there are enough people to choose from, or you are matched with one by experts, love should strike. But we've tried Tinder, Hinge and Feeld, and we didn't get into Married at First Sight. And we broke up with our boyfriends because we couldn't feel ourselves in the relationship. Now we're alone.

Come and sing along in a good mix of solemn and informal atmosphere when Aarhus Theatre and the Association of Folk High Schools invite you to sing together from the High School Songbook. The Main Stage at Aarhus Theatre provides the setting for singing the summer off to a good start. The surroundings of the old Theatre give both the feeling of cultural anchoring, but also that both new and old songs can unfold especially when sung in the artistic poetic space.
