Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony captivates with dance-like rhythmic vitality and mournful emotional depth. Víkingur Ólafsson is the soloist in Brahms’s First Piano Concerto, which seamlessly combines solo instrument and orchestra in a work of lyricism and majesty. Manfred Honeck, whose interpretations of orchestral classics have been called “enthralling” (The New York Times), is on the podium.
