Join us for an exceptional musical showcase featuring the talented Lola Mae Stevenson on bass trombone, as part of her Master of Music recital. Lola Mae Stevenson, a distinguished student under the guidance of Michael Mulcahy, Randall Hawes, Reed Capshaw, and R. Douglas Wright, will perform a diverse repertoire that promises to enchant and inspire. The program includes works by Daniela Candillari, Kevin McKee, Robert Spillman, Vinicio A. Meza, Ida Gotkovsky, and Satoshi Yagisawa, featuring compositions such as "Extremely Close," "Iron Horse" for brass quintet, "Concerto for Bass Trombone," "Canción sin palabras," "Lied," and "Love Song."

Supporting Stevenson on stage will be Zach Hommel and Parisa Tofigh on trumpet, Gwen Boros on horn, Tim George on trombone, and Yoko Yamada-Selvaggio on piano, making this recital a collaborative celebration of brass music.

Immerse yourself in a captivating evening of classical music as the Tucson Symphony Orchestra presents "Chopin and Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet" at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall. This enchanting concert, part of the Classic Series, will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm. 

Experience the melodious beauty of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2, brought to life by the extraordinary Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Martinez, whose prodigious talent has been captivating audiences since her orchestral debut at the tender age of 6. The evening will also explore the depths of love and tragedy through Prokofiev’s stirring ballet music for Shakespeare’s timeless tale of star-crossed lovers, Romeo & Juliet. Additionally, the concert will feature Missy Mazzoli’s "These Worlds In Us," a poignant exploration of the intense memories that reside within each of us, adding a contemporary touch to the night’s repertoire.

The concert is expected to last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, including an intermission, and will be enhanced by Concert Comments, a pre-concert talk that begins one hour before each performance, offering deeper insights into the evening’s program.
