Join us at the Royal Festival Hall for an unforgettable evening as Alexandre Kantorow, the phenomenal French pianist, takes the stage to perform Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmonia Orchestra. This concert, happening on Thursday, 9 May 2024, at 7:30 pm, promises to be a showcase of intense emotions and poetic musicality, under the baton of conductor Manfred Honeck in his debut with the Philharmonia.

The program will open with Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 2, a piece known for its uninterrupted 20 minutes of musical poetry, followed by an interval and then Bruckner's Symphony No. 9. Bruckner's final symphony, left incomplete at his death, offers a profound and soul-searching experience, ending in a sublime peace that serves as a fitting swansong for the composer.

Alexandre Kantorow, celebrated for his gold medal and Grand Prix win at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019, has since captivated audiences worldwide, including a sell-out Southbank Centre debut last year. His performance alongside the Philharmonia is eagerly anticipated and is not to be missed.

Tickets are priced between £15 and £70, with priority booking now open and general booking starting at 10 am on Monday, 30 October. Friends of the Philharmonia can book their tickets now to ensure the best seats. The concert duration is approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
