Porter's breakthrough came with his Blue Note debut "Liquid Spirit" in 2013, which not only sold over a million albums but also earned him his first Grammy Award, heralding him as America’s next great jazz singer. Following this, his 2016 album "Take Me to the Alley" won him another Grammy for Best Vocal Jazz Album. His subsequent albums, including the heartfelt tribute "Nat King Cole & Me" and the original "ALL RISE," have continued to receive critical acclaim and Grammy nominations.

In addition to his musical achievements, Porter has hosted "The Hang," a podcast featuring conversations with famous friends, and "The PorterHouse," a cooking show sharing recipes inspired by his local community, global tours, and family traditions.

A semi-finalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition in 2013 and a graduate from The Juilliard School in Jazz Composition, Cook has toured with notable artists such as Grammy Award-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott, Christian McBride Big Band, Jon Batiste, and Marquis Hill.
