For more than two decades she’s been on the scene, bassist/vocalist/producer/label owner and now filmmaker Mimi Jones has reigned supreme, as a side woman to an impressive coterie of musicians and as a leader with three original recording projects on her own Hot Tone Music label. Born Miriam Sullivan in New York City on March 25, 1972, and was raised in the Bronx. Jones studied Music at the Manhattan School of Music Conservatory, and has also studied with Linda McKnight, Lisle Atkinson, Barry Harris, Milt Hinton, Dr. Billy Taylor, Yusef Lateef. She has toured extensively for over 30 years throughout the seven continents, and has played with such people as Frank Ocean, Kenny Barron, DD Bridgewater, Dianne Reeves, Tia Fuller, Roy Hargrove, Terri Lyne Carrington, Beyonce, Jason Moran, Common, Black Thought and more. Mimi Jones co-directs a multimedia interdisciplinary production with pianist ArcoIris Sandoval entitled The D.O.M.E. Experience, creating choreography, musical and visual works inspired by social injustices and environmental changes in our world. Voted #1 & #2 rising star by the DownBeat polls for 3 consecutive years, she currently works on a new project called The Black Madonna. The Berklee School of Music professor recently began collaborating with a trio called Nite Bjuti featuring Vocalist Candice Hoyes, and Sound Chemist Val Jeanty. Mimi is a recipient of the Chamber Music America Performance Plus Award 2021.

Peter Brainin is a 3x Grammy and Latin Grammy winning saxophonist, composer and educator who has toured internationally with Mongo Santamaría, Valery Ponomorev, Hilton Ruiz, Bebo Valdez, Chico O’Farrill, Bobby Sanabria, Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra (with whom he’s featured on 2 Grammy winning CD’s), Joris Teepe, Willie Colon & Legal Alien, Samuel Torres, the Mambo Legends Orchestra and John DiMartino as well as with his own quartet and as a guest artist and clinician. In the U.S. he has performed and/or recorded with Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson, Randy Weston, Harold Mabern, Idris Muhammad, Jerry Gonzalez, Paquito D’Rivera, Israel “Cachao” López, Sheila E., Eddie Palmieri and many other Jazz and Latin Jazz legends. Peter has appeared on over 200 albums including his own as co-leader with Steve Johns (which also feature contributions by Conrad Herwig, George Cables and Ben Monder) and with the quartet Native Soul. A native of the Bronx, he twice received the BRIO (Bronx Recognizes its Own) award for music composition from Bronx Council on the Arts.

New York City-based guitarist, composer, producer, and songwriter Roy Ben Bashat is a rising star who has already achieved much in his young, burgeoning career.
Born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel, Ben Bashat has started his professional career at the age of 15, performing locally at the Jazz scene in Israel, while attending the prestigious Thelma Yellin High School of the arts.

Louise moved NYC from New Hampshire in 1997 and has been active in the jazz scene since her arrival. A published author - Jazzy Fairy Tales Teacher's Manual, written with Susan Milligan (Alfred Publishing, 2011) with 2 more books slated for publication in 2015 - she is a leader in the field of jazz education. Nat Hentoff has praised her work as "the most joyously encouraging way of expanding the audience for jazz". Along with her new release on Chesky Records, Black Coffee, which was in Grammy consideration, Louise has previously released 4 CDs on her own label, RILO: Come Ready and See Me and Bass-ically Speaking; 2 jazz CDs for children – Bop Boo Day and Jazzy Fairy Tales. She is a recipient of the 2021 Jazz Journalists Association Jazz Hero Award.
