Alamo City Arts is proud to present Alamo City Dance Company's 32nd annual production of The Nutcracker December 21st and 22nd at the beautiful Thiry Auditorium located on the campus of Our Lady of the Lake University.

This classical holiday tale will feature a cast of over 85 performers in over 160 roles, all accompanied by live orchestration from Alamo City Symphony Viva!

Join us for a vibrant community gathering at the Drum Circle Wellness event, hosted at the scenic Will Naylor Smith River Walk Plaza of the Tobin Center. This enriching experience is set to take place on May 18, 2024, starting at 9:00 am, promising a morning filled with rhythmic harmony and wellness.

This event is proudly sponsored by H-E-B, marking it as a cornerstone of the Wellness at the Tobin series, which aims to offer free public experiences focused on enhancing well-being through various activities. At the Drum Circle Wellness event, attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of percussion, with a variety of drums and hand percussion instruments provided for communal use. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own percussion instruments to add to the collective rhythm.

Leading the drum circle is Jorge Ochoa, OTR, an occupational therapist and seasoned group drumming facilitator based in San Antonio, TX. Jorge is the founder of TamboRhythms, an initiative dedicated to promoting FUNctional living through rhythmic expression, welcoming individuals of all ages and musical backgrounds.

The event is designed to proceed rain or shine, with arrangements in place to move indoors in case of inclement weather, ensuring that the rhythm goes on regardless of the elements. While complimentary parking is not available at the Tobin Center for this event, attendees can make use of the Tobin Parking Garage and surface lot, with rates conveniently posted.

By participating in the Drum Circle Wellness event, attendees not only engage in a unique form of communal music-making but also contribute to a larger movement of wellness and cultural enrichment championed by the Tobin Center. Founded in 2021 by the passionate trio of Jonathan Godinez, Jennifer Isabel, and Brian Gomez, Esta Noche Dance Company is at the forefront of this event, offering the San Antonio dance community an exceptional opportunity to engage in the lively rhythms of Salsa and Bachata. The company is celebrated for its contribution to the growth and recognition of Texas's vibrant dance scene, providing leadership through dance and fostering a safe and open environment for all to learn and enjoy.

Whether you're a seasoned dancer or new to the world of Latin dance, our dedicated instructors and team are here to guide you through all aspects of Salsa and Bachata dancing. Come dressed in comfortable shoes and attire suitable for movement, ready to immerse yourself in the music and dance, rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, rest assured that the wellness event will move indoors, ensuring the fun continues regardless of the weather.

Little River Band garnered huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart-topping hits in the 70’s and 80’s. . Their worldwide album, CD, and digital downloads amass to more than 350 million. LRB continues to deliver distinctive harmonies and vocal abilities under the direction of 41 year LRB veteran, lead vocalist and bass player Wayne Nelson.
