TDT collaborates with well known Toronto visual artist Ness Lee on a new performance work featuring the company ensemble. This free durational event will be performed on November 23rd, November 29th  and December 1st, 2024 at 32 Lisgar Street.

After their initial collaboration during the Performance Clash in 2020, TDT and Ness Lee come together to imagine a performance that will  gently move through the biennial’s exhibition space, with seven performers interacting with Lee’s distinctive sculptures and objects. Finding moments of intimacy between their bodies and the plush characters Ness creates, the dancers will animate the gallery through a tender parade, embodying the breath of space as a  momentary feeling of one another.

Unaware of his true identity and his existing engagement, Giselle's heartbreak leads her to a tragic end, only to be summoned from the grave by the Wilis, vengeful spirits of women betrayed. In a dramatic twist, the purity of Giselle's love offers a chance for redemption in a story that has captivated audiences for centuries.

Flowing, pulsing, riveting energies arise in time-transcendent creations. f(x)=sin2x-1/x is a mathematical formula conveying the shape of Smith’s “in the groove” piece which moves with exhilarating rhythmic drive to end with a cascade of brass flourishes serving as our season’s opening fanfare. Sørensen’s intimate, captivating work, in slow motion, creates an intoxicating sensual atmosphere. Ishii’s massive sound-space continuum is imbued with surprise and its East/West cross-cultural fabric provides it with tremendous imaginative power. Such illusive descriptions of varied inspirations only begin to hint at the varied richness and grand scope of the three amazing works on this concert.
