Immerse yourself in the festive spirit with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra's (RSNO) enchanting Christmas Concert, featuring the timeless classic, The Snowman. This magical performance is set to captivate audiences with its blend of favorite festive melodies, singalong carols, and the heartwarming film, The Snowman, presented on the big screen. The film's narration will be brought to life by the special star guest, Sanjeev Kohli, known for his role in Still Game, accompanied by the illustrious sounds of the Orchestra. The concert will also showcase the talents of the RSNO Youth Chorus & Changed Voices in Glasgow & Dundee, and the RSNO Chorus & Chorus Academy in Glasgow & Edinburgh, adding a harmonious depth to the evening.

Under the baton of conductor Stephen Bell, the RSNO invites friends and family to join in this festive feast of Christmas cheer. The concert series will travel through Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, and Edinburgh from December 19th to December 22nd, 2024, offering a perfect opportunity for a pre-Christmas outing. Each location promises an evening filled with the spirit of Christmas, featuring the iconic "Walking in the Air" among other beloved compositions.

The arrogant Prince Lorenzo has had a curse placed on him by an enchantress and must find true love before the final petal falls from a magic rose. Will he be able to change his ways…and his appearance? Will Belle be the one to help him…and what are those strange howling noises coming from Cludgie Castle at night?

It’s no surprise that Handel’s Messiah continues to draw audiences back year after year. There is nothing quite like it. Although the Hallelujah chorus has become the work’s calling card, Handel wrote every note to impress and astound his listeners. Its choruses are as grand as anything Handel ever composed, the solo writing profoundly moving, the drama powerful and compelling. Performed ‘the Dunedin way’ as Handel would have first heard it, with a small orchestra, a team of twelve singers and soloists who step out from the chorus, there are few more uplifting ways to celebrate the festive season.
