Seattle Rep is thrilled to present an intimate and offbeat new comedy, "Primary Trust," a captivating story that unfolds in the Leo K. Theater from October 24 to November 24, 2024. This remarkable play, penned by the 2024 Pulitzer Prize Winner Eboni Booth and directed by Kaytlin McIntyre, invites audiences into the life of Kenneth, a man whose existence in a small town is as predictable as it is comforting. Working daily at the local bookstore and enjoying happy hour Mai Tais with his imaginary best friend, Kenneth's routine is disrupted when he faces unemployment, pushing him out of his comfort zone and compelling him to confront his greatest fear: change.

"Primary Trust" is not just a comedy; it's a surprising tale of courage, friendship, and the leaps of faith we take. The play is recommended for audiences aged 7 and up, making it a perfect choice for school-aged children capable of enjoying a 90-minute show without an intermission. Attendees should be aware of the use of theatrical haze and two brief moments of flashing lights during the performance.

Gabriel Fauré, who was sent to train as a church organist at only 9 years old, must have provided music for countless funerals. But he said he composed this Requiem “for pleasure.” This would be a Requiem to bring comfort to those who mourn, a series of heavenly tableaux rather than fire and brimstone, and one of his most beloved works. Tōru Takemitsu’s Requiem for String Orchestra expresses a more intense vein of grief. And finally, a riddle — Elgar’s “Enigma” Variations.

Whether seated or standing, people with Parkinson’s disease will enjoy this creative and welcoming class that is open to all abilities and mobility of movement. Live music is used to enhance the positive experience this class brings to participants, and all involved. No dance experience is required to participate. The classes are always free. Lili, an elderly singer and composer with early dementia, struggles with her son, Dante, who has given up his career as a pianist to care for her. Dr. Klugman's study on music and memory brings Sunny, a young clarinetist, into their orbit. What is the connection between music and memory? Facing the challenge of this all-too-human condition demands the utmost in courage and sacrifice.
