A variety of local area musicians take center stage each Friday night throughout the summer at the Howell Courthouse Amphitheater, 200 E. Grand River in Howell on the Courthouse lawn! This free event features rock, country and classic tribute musical entertainment. Celebrating 25 years of bringing music to Livingston County!

The Livingston Arts Council invites you to come and enjoy our 18th Annual Fine Arts Show. This show is held during the Howell Melon Festival on the first floor of the Howell Opera House with all the artists present to discuss their work and answer questions.  There will be painting, jewelry, digital prints, photography and more, with all the displayed art available for purchase. We also have a kids “make-and-take” art table and a community murals for the whole family to contribute to! So come in, walk through, and find your new favorite piece of art!

You've never heard violin like this! The world's premier visionary violinist, Dixon's life mission is to inspire people - and he has done so at over 1,000 concerts across North America, including giving four TED talks/performances, over ten years at Burning Man and Electric Forest, plus radio, TV, and film appearances. A former technology leader and symphony violinist, Dixon walked away from a distinguished career to follow his dream full-time, and invented a whole new music genre. Dixon now improvises on a 5-string electric violin with a looping system he developed to create an all-live one-man symphony, guided by his remarkable personal story of life transformation.

Heywood Banks is simply one-of-a-kind, almost impossible to describe, with a style his very own. Equal parts genius and buffoon, this songwriter-comic-singer-poet-musician has become a cult hero and a pop icon, with a show that appeals to college students, stoners, businessmen, yuppies, rednecks, punks, kids, and/or your grandmother. He intersperses his humorous observations of life with twisted, inventive, bizarre songs, sung and played in a variety of styles - from folk, to country, to rock, to pop, and way beyond. You have to be pretty smart to get Heywood at his deepest level (he demands a high level of pop culture literacy), but you can also enjoy him just for his vocal style impersonations, expert musicianship and just plain silliness.

Ironwood band is a husband & wife, acoustic duo from Troy MI, heavily inspired by Celtic and American folk music. Anna sings lead vocals, and plays fiddle and mandolin, while Mark rocks the acoustic guitar, and electric bass. Together they perform original songs as well as traditional Irish and folk. Their recorded songs and live performances are full of energy. This folkin’ band will have you on your feet!

We would like to welcome Ted Vigil for the his first time performing at the Opera House. Ted is a singer, songwriter and a tribute artist. He was born in Seattle and raised in the Olympia area. He has been performing from the age of ten throughout school in concert, symphonic and jazz bands developing his talents as a drummer and singer.
