This beloved classic, featuring music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, has been given a fresh, modern twist with a new book by Douglas Carter Beane. Directed by the talented Justin Lucero in his Latté Da debut, this production promises to enchant audiences of all ages.

**Plot Summary:**
Spirited and savvy Ella defies her stepmother’s wishes and captures the heart of a charming prince on her quest to transform her life and the world. Empowered by kindness and a fairy godmother, she both sparkles and sparks change, reminding us that goodness and courage can lead to happily ever after.

With characteristic warmth and virtuosity, the low-voice ensemble weaves together Christmas favorites such as “Es ist ein Ros entsprungen” and Saunder Choi’s incomparable setting of “Angels We Have Heard on High” alongside Sara Bareilles’ gently lilting “Love Is Christmas.” The program also spans a range of cultures and contexts from 12th-century chant by Hildegard von Bingen to Christian Onyeji’s thrilling “Amuworo ayi otu nwa.”
